What to expect in Worship
Arriving for services - Our worship begins at 11:00 but most people begin to arrive at 10:45 a.m. Worship is “traditional” in nature. That means that we don’t use a dropdown screen or incorporate a band. Worship takes place in the sanctuary and we sit in pews.
There are "Visitor" designated parking signs prominently displayed throughout our parking lots. These are reserved especially for you, our first time guest. You are also welcome to park in any other space that is convenient. After parking, you'll be able to access our building from either the main entrance or the foyer doors off the rear parking lot. Our membership is there to assist you, provide directions, and warmly welcome you. They can point you in the direction of anything you need.
What should you wear – wear what you feel comfortable wearing. When you worship at Providence you’ll find others around you in suits & ties, dresses, jeans, open collar shirts, golf shirts. Just about anything!
Traditional Worship - During worship we utilize music, scripture, sermon, and prayer in an atmosphere that is welcoming, inviting, honest, and friendly. Our goal is to provide a meaningful, stress-free worship experience for you, so we never ask you to stand or identify yourself as a guest! We use a bulletin each Sunday that provides our order of worship – it’s like a roadmap of what we’re doing that guides us through the service with clear direction as to when to stand, sit, what to say and when to sing. Hymns are sung from The Glory to God Hymnal in your pew, but sometimes we use songs from outside the hymnal, which will be printed in your bulletin.
Children in Worship - Children are welcome to worship with their parents or to engage in one of our many enrichment programs. Children stay with their parents for the first part of worship and are invited to come forward for a special time with our Pastor about 15 minutes into the service. We call this Time with Young Disciples. Afterwards, children (K-5) are invited to enjoy Enrichment – a special time of lessons and friendship with people specially selected to provide a warm, safe, enjoyable learning experience
